Course info

The histories of science, technology, environment and medicine are dynamic fields of historical enquiry which have inspired new and exciting questions and historical approaches. Our work spans periods from Medieval to Modern and encompasses a variety of places including Britain and Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa and the Caribbean. We particularly emphasise the wider social, cultural, economic, political and intellectual aspects of science, technology, medicine and the environment.A key strength of our practice is the full engagement of our historians, collaborating in fields such as religious history, global history, material culture, anthropology and sociology. The expertise we demonstrate in our research enables us to actively participate in discussions with key policymakers at an international level.
