This is an exciting area of research where ideas are pursued for their own interest while having a variety of applications.Our research group is one of the leading national centres of excellence in Diophantine approximation and analytic number theory.We have particular interests in metric and transcendental number theory, Diophantine approximation on manifolds and algebraic independence theory. We also explore the theory of the Riemann zeta function and connections to dynamical systems, ergodic theory, fractals and random matrix theory.
