Course info

Our research interests centre on the period from 1830 to the present. The range of topics we explore is extraordinarily diverse: from the Victorian novel to postcolonial theory, and from modern poetry to 21st-century fiction. As well as English literature, our School has particular research strengths in South African, Asian, American, Irish and continental European writing. We are also interested in the relationship between the written word and the cinematic image. Staff and postgraduate researchers come from all over the world.
