Course Summary

This course brings together the science of nutrition and the innovation of business to expand student’s horizons beyond the more traditional approaches to public health nutrition. It will enhance your public health and nutrition knowledge and skills. Throughout your course you will study key issues in public health nutrition and the influence of policy and the wider environment.

The increase in non communicable diseases across the globe, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity and malnutrition is inextricably linked to poor diet. This has led to an increasing demand for graduates who have an in-depth knowledge of the impact of dietary intake on the risk factors of disease, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge through education and influencing policy to improve the population’s health. This course will be assessed using a variety of methods which will could vary depending upon the module.
