Course Summary

This course is designed for students that are interested in supporting the renewable energy industry as it continues its rapid growth to tackle the severe issues posed by climate change. Students will have the opportunity to advance their engineering proficiency and develop new skills and knowledge. Through the exploration of current and emerging technologies and applications for renewable energy, students will be prepared to make significant contributions to their professions, the economy and society.

There is an accreditation for Prior Learning (APL) process available which is in accordance with University regulations for taught postgraduate courses. The accreditation for Prior Experiential learning (APEL) will only be awarded for achievements equivalent to master’s level. AP(E)L will be assessed in line with University Regulations.

This course will be assessed using a variety of methods which will could vary depending upon the module. Assessment methods will include exams, individual assignments and group work elements that clearly explain the opportunity for individual marks.

The MSc meets the demand for skilled renewable energy engineers and graduate career prospects will be wide ranging to include manufacture, design, consultancy and management.
Through a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) recognised business module, students will develop their project management skills and have the opportunity to gain level 7 certificates in consultancy and leadership.

Entry requirements

Students must: be an honours graduate of any physical science, mathematics or engineering discipline (minimum 2:2 or higher), obtained from a recognised university/HE institution, or hold an equivalent qualification acceptable to Coventry University. Students who do not fit with the above entry requirements can gain entry, but their degrees and experience will be assessed for appropriate content by the course director.
