This has been a wonderful university experience for me. I've heard that this university is highly effective for both students and teachers, and I truly feel that I have benefited greatly from my time here. There are several compelling reasons why this University stands out as an excellent institution for pursuing a degree. First, the location of the University plays a key role. Leicester is an affordable city compared to other major cities such as London and Manchester, offering a balance of quality education and cost of living.

Secondly, the course module design is another significant factor. For instance, my MSc in Pharmaceutical Quality by Design (QbD) is one of the few specialized technical courses in the United Kingdom tailored for professionals in the pharmaceutical industry. This course provides invaluable insights into pharmaceutical product design by integrating laboratory and software skills, which I believe is unique and highly beneficial to my career aspirations.

Additionally, the University’s block teaching method greatly enhances the learning experience. It offers a structured approach that allows for self-study time, enabling me to delve deeper into specific topics and strengthen my foundational knowledge.

Upon completion of my degree, I am confident that I will be able to apply my academic learnings and professional expertise in the pharmaceutical industry, driven by a passion for utilizing QbD principles to improve product quality and innovation.

In terms of improvement, I would suggest that the University consider implementing a more comprehensive screening process for students, particularly for courses that require professional or practical experience. This would ensure that admissions are more aligned with the career paths of students, ultimately enhancing the educational experience and better preparing graduates for the challenges they will face in the pharmaceutical sector. read full review

Best aspects:
My time at DMU has been a positive and enriching experience overall. The university offers a diverse and inclusive environment where students from different backgrounds feel welcomed. Many lecturers are supportive, knowledgeable, and approachable, and they encourage practical learning through case studies, group work, and real-world examples. The campus facilities, including the library and study spaces, are modern and accessible, and the central location in Leicester makes it convenient for transport, part-time work, and social life. I also appreciated the focus on employability, with opportunities for skills development and career support.

Worst aspects / areas for improvement:
However, there are areas that could be improved. Communication between departments can sometimes be slow or unclear, especially regarding assessments and administrative processes. The workload during peak assessment periods can feel overwhelming, and better spacing of deadlines would help. While teaching quality is generally good, there can be inconsistency between modules in terms of organisation and feedback. Improving responsiveness to student feedback and providing more consistent academic support across modules would enhance the overall experience. read full review
