Edge Hill University’s award-winning 160-acre campus is located close to the North West Town of Ormskirk, near to Liverpool and Manchester. The University has been a provider of higher education for over 130 years, originally starting life as a teacher training college. Edge Hill’s aim is to create opportunity from knowledge, an ethos which the institution has achieved, as recognised by a range of awards and high-rankings for its outstanding teaching and student experience, notably achieving Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework in 2017.

Edge Hill now has almost 5,000 full-and-part-time postgraduate students and 10,000 full-time undergraduate students. A £300m investment over the last decade has created a beautiful campus and enhanced facilities. The latest developments include a new Technology Hub, additional labs for geosciences, a newly-developed Arts Centre, a sixty-acre Sport and Leisure complex and a new Catalyst building, the latest development which opened in 2018 and houses the library and all student services.

Edge Hill offers an expanding portfolio of courses for postgraduate students available across all three faculties, alongside specialist support. Most programmes are available on a full and part-time or flexible basis. You can visit specific Open Days and request prospectuses to explore the various subjects and options available for postgraduate study.

Research degrees are available as well as taught programmes and those studying for a Master’s degree are eligible to convert to a PhD if they prefer. Enhancing employability is also central to Edge Hill with work experience, placement opportunities and excellent links to potential employers available. The university ranks highly in the UK for graduate employment.
