Professional Graduate Certificate in Education PCET (PGCE)

Overall Rating

Undergraduate course was absolutely brilliant, high quality tutor and tutorials. And they went beyond their duty to facilitate learning. However, the PCET has too many students in one class. The lecture theatre is not a good learning environment for all day tutoring. You can not hear questions and answers and is often uncomfortable.

Student Union

Absolutely useless, too interested in looking after their own jobs rather than doing what’s right for the students, they did nothing to stop redundancy of staff which has and will affect the teaching.

Clubs and Societies

Don’t use them so not in a position to comment

Uni Facilities

Some are good but a long way to go yet.

Course and Lecturers

The PCET is amalgamated with PCGE and is mostly aimed at teaching in schools/colleges not for working in industries.

City Life

Wrexham is dire, people living on the streets, sleeping from taking drugs.

Job Prospects

Not very well, placements not organised, having to do it ourselves, what are we paying the university for?

Student Support

Very good.
