Employability of all graduates is integral to everything Wrexham Glyndwr University does, and it has won a number of accolades for its employability record and careers team – including being named the number one UK university for postgraduate employment (2017/18).
Its employer and industry-inspired course portfolio has been designed to provide students with the advanced knowledge that will allow them to achieve their career aspirations and secure high-level positions in fast-growing, in-demand industries.
Students have a multitude of opportunities during their studies to gain hands-on experience to bolster their knowledge and their CV. This could be through using the specialist industry-standard equipment and facilities on-campus, through showcasing their work in exhibitions or competitions or through work placements.
The university’s Careers and Employability team are there for all students, both during their time studying at Glyndwr and long after they have graduated. Their strong links with local, national, and international employers mean they can help students locate and secure part-time work, internships, or volunteering opportunities during their studies and their perfect career role after graduation. They can also help with writing CVs and interview preparation.
Students who have aspirations of starting their own business or becoming self-employed after graduation can access one-to-one support from the university’s Enhancing Entrepreneurship Team. They are on hand to assist students in advancing their enterprise skills, developing their business ideas, and securing required funding. They also organise regular conferences and workshops with external partners, which are open to all.
