GOLDSMITHS, UNIVERSITY OF LONDON
Overall Rating

I absolute love the Goldsmiths campus, buildings and most of the accessibility it provides. In fact, I absolute adore my course, too, and it was almost exactly what I was hoping for the most part. My course convener is one of the best teachers I have had in my life, and is also an incredibly helpful person out of the classroom. As a learning institute, it's an absolute delight.

However, the administration is extremely slow. They are slow to inform students regarding fee payment, warnings, and other important stuff that goes around behind the scenes. The student support is less than ideal, too, and you really have to pester the staff to get the easiest of things to work. My backend was blocked due to some fee payment issues, but I was never informed about the same. The uni threatened to cancel my student visa without prior notice, and even then, did not mention the reason for their warnings.

Accommodation

The heating often goes off, alongside the access to hot water. The maintenance is slow, and sometimes you really have to pester the reception to get your work done. Even in terms of value for money, the rooms seem much smaller compared to other halls, and the amenities are also dull.

For the sake of comparison, I am paying £940+/month for a semi-large room at Raymont Hall. The social room has a Fussball table, a vending machine, and a few sofas. A friend living at McMillan Studen Village, on the other hand, is paying £600+/month for a larger room, and has a PS4, TT table, snooker table, and a much bigger social room at his disposal.
