Course overview
The level 7 programme builds upon the past operational knowledge and experience of managers by focusing on the more strategic issues of management within an organisation.
With a more comprehensive structure, our level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership develops you further to give you all the key skills and competencies you will need to become an effective strategic manager. The extended Diploma in Strategic Management & Leadership give you full CMI membership and takes you another step closer towards Chartered Manager Status.
Delivery Information:
Workshops are held fortnightly on a Thursday evening, 18.00-21.00. Guidance and resources are provided in relation to completion of this. Due to the nature of the qualification flexible start dates are available throughout the year. In addition you are expected to commit at least one hour study per evening, a minimum of 230 hours over the duration of the course. The course is supported by online materials via our Virtual Learning Environment and may be supplemented by online delivery.
How will I be assessed?
One 4000 word assignment to be submitted after each taught session. A total of 9 assignments over the delivery period.
What can I do next
Completion of the Extended Diploma can be your first step towards a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership or an MBA. Local providers are the University of Worcester and Birmingham City University.
Successful completion can lead to the Chartered Manager Status, further information can be obtained from the CMI website.

It is expected that you will hold a Level 5 CMI or similar qualification. However, we are able to take into account your level of experience in lieu of formal qualifications and this is normally established at interview. The College has a commitment to widening participation in Higher Education, and will therefore give careful consideration to prior experiential learning, non-traditional qualifications and qualifications obtained outside of the United Kingdom.
