Heriot-Watt University

Some of the buildings on campus are really nice while other ones are really run down and just depressing to be in. I would say there is a lot of student support offered but in terms of how accessible it really is, it's very difficult to be able to accesss. There are some activities available on campus however, throughout the semster the amount of events actually signficantly drops when that should be when more events happen. The bus routes that run to and from campus are not very realiable, it takes forever to get into the city centre and back to campus from the centre city. It would be nice if there was a better system for this or a route to and from campus that had less stops along the way intsead just the main universities on route, Edinburgh, Napier & Heriot Watt. The campus overall looks nice nad is mostly well kept, it could use more sidewalks in some areas and outdoor lights. The student union is nice, serves food and drinks. The upstairs study rooms in the union look a bit like harry potters room under the stairs and are not really enjoyable to study in.

The room itself is not great. White Brick walls that we aren't allowed to hang pictures on makes it feel quite like a prison cell. A kitchen shared with five other people that only gets swept and mopped by cleaning staff. The location in terms of allocation to other areas is right in the middle which is quite nice. However, it is quite annoying I have to go all the way over to one of the far dormitories to pick up deliveries when my hall has a parcel shelf. The staff that work there, minus the housekeeper for my hall, all are quite rude and just don't want to talk. Overall just don't feel as though it is a good experience for how much I am paying to live there. Additionally the way in which they paired up the flatmates, I feel like there is a better way to go about it either based on sports, gender or programs as my flatmates are all quiet and I hardly ever see which is disappointing because I wanted to have a good experience with my flatmates.
