KEELE UNIVERSITY
Overall Rating

Compared to friends of mine at other vet schools, despite Covid we as a school have been way more practical and involved which has really helped when all the lectures are still online. Socially as with everywhere we’ve had very little as we live in a flat of vets who are our study bubble but so far all the staff seem lovely and helpful especially the clinical tutors. And they have been quite receptive of our feedback and taken on board a lot of what we have said, more than older more established uni I reckon.

Uni Facilities

Mostly great, the labs are brilliant, got all new iPads. And good farm selection to work with but the downside side is from keele it’s a good 45 mins drive to Harper. Having more regular easier transport between the two would be better. So that’s the only improvement I would make to the vet school facilities so far.

Course and Lecturers

Lots of hands on practicals both on the farm and in the lab, blended teaching with tutorials, online lectures and coursework. (Vet med)

Job Prospects

We are not there yet, they do lots of skills related to being a new grad vet but since we are first cohort of new vet school I’m guessing they will put more in place as we go along the next 4 years ahead.

Student Support

Overall really good. Occasionally quite hard to get a hold of some departments/staff but once they reply the support offered is really good. But since they are new they are not fully staffed so sometimes the emails about EMS for example get missed !
