Being an aged clinician, but also a life-long learner, I chose the KCL for the richness of study options offered to advance my knowledge and research in children advocacy, namely giving them voice in what matter to them most during hospital admissions. I could interact with my supervisors in a peer manner, also during my remote study in the current pandemic. This was a crucial stage during my PhD, because one of the best resources I received from KCL was the continuous support and availability of my supervisors. Despite I worked remotely, I never felt to be lonely.
Another crucial aspect of the KCL w.ere the digital resources and the Library spaces. One could study remotely or in person in the best user-friendly environment and have inter-connection with several other students by screen or in face-to-face encounters
Last but not least, the level of education that I received is outstanding. The multi-specialistic team, digital efficacious learning resources, and the daily work at my personal desk at the KCL are the essential many resources I cannot leave without. Trust me, I feel that next year, at the end of my PhD, I would be overstressed for having to abandon my role as a student and, sadly, become lonely and aged...;>)
As an italian subject, one improvement I could suggest at the university would be the opportunity to create an institutional safe place, including some links to collect names and contacts of all the other students studying at the KCL and coming from my own country.. Definitely, this way might allow post-graduate students, like me, to solve some daily issues, and share their experiences good things or downsizes, in an informal and useful way that could favourite support in campuses and in students' life. read full review
KCL is an amazing educational setting with world leading educators and professors. The Department of War Studies is globally recognised and for good reason.

Unfortunately the cost of living has had a serious impact on my studies and my mental well-being and I think more could always be done to support students like me. It’s really hard. read full review
