In addition, Kingston University was highly commended in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018, placed 136 out of the top 1,102 institutions across the world. The latest Research Excellence Framework 2014 (REF) rated over half of the universities research submissions as world leading and internationally excellent.

Kingston overlooks the River Thames, boasting riverside cafes, bars and restaurants. A large shopping centre, cinemas, theatres and clubs are all within close reach of each other, while London is less than half an hour away on the train.

Alumni of the university include fashion commentator Caryn Franklin MBE, Glenda Bailey OBE, Editor in Chief at Harpers' Bazaar and the movie star Ben Barnes.
