Sustainable Water Management MSc

Overall Rating

Very good, lots of support offered, lots to get involved with (societies, fundraising, sport), shame about expensive student housing and so most students have to live in damp houses because they are the only ones they can afford.

Student Union

Not very representative of student body, full time officers are just the face of any decisions made by the full time staff, students not consulted about key decisions e.g. selling our student union nightclub Sugarhouse.

Clubs and Societies

Uni Facilities

Excellent - although more space to eat lunch and chill rather than work would be good.

Course and Lecturers

Most: taught by JBA consultancy which gives students real-life experience of working with a company and using industry-led programmes and techniques. Invaluable.

Least: LEC PGT modules are very similar to undergraduate modules - would not recommend staying at the university to do a generic LEC PGT degree because you don't learn a lot of new content.

City Life

Yes - although bus services need improving, and reducing costs

Job Prospects

General careers service is amazing - CV drop ins, workshops, mock interview practice, Lancaster award etc etc. Departmental careers service virtually non-existent.

Student Support

Very good support, although counselling can be hard to access at times because it is very over-subscribed.
