Course Summary

This online course is designed to meet the learning needs of managers and professionals working in the events industry. It is also suitable if you have a first degree in an unrelated subject and want to specialise in events management. You will advance your expertise in the strategic planning and management of large and complex events. Your knowledge will be honed by studying the management of worldwide events, ensuring you will be able to address the many industry changes and difficult challenges facing today's events managers.

This course is delivered by online learning and teaching methods focus on online materials. However, there is variety and diversity in the teaching methods deployed as they match the aims and learning outcomes of each module.

You will be equipped for a wide variety of senior management and strategic planning positions within the events industry in the UK and overseas. Former students now hold jobs in senior roles in conferencing and events. Job titles will include: Events Manager; Senior Account Executive; Conference Organiser and Senior Project Manager.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have either at least a second-class honours degree or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. All applications should be supported by a reference, either academic or professional. The University welcomes applications from mature applicants who demonstrate academic potential. We usually require some evidence of recent academic study, for example completion of an access course, however recent relevant work experience may also be considered. Applicants are required to meet our standard English language requirement of GCSE grade C or equivalent.
