LEEDS BECKETT UNIVERSITY
Overall Rating

M overall experience has been the most memorable. I never expected Leeds Beckett to be my best experience. But, the university has done way beyond my expectations to make sure I receive all the support I need and to make sure I receive the best out of my experience in Leeds as a student of Leeds Beckett. Couldn't be more proud to be a Leeds Beckett Student.

Student Union

The Students' Union works really hard to make sure students get their rights as students. Students have benefited so much out of the way the Students' Union works. We received great student discounts of clothes, food, events, etc. They also organize and help students in whatever way.

Clubs and Societies

Global Cafe has been my greatest experience. International students interact with each other and they have so much in store for us. Bowling, Ice Skating, International Day, Trips, Food, Drinks, Game Night, Scottish Dancing. One learns a lot out of their experiences with Global Cafe. I have learnt so much about the English Culture as well as other Cultures.

Accommodation

Opal/Leeds Student Village is one of the Uni Accommodation at Leeds Beckett that gives you what you pay for. I find it quite expensive but what comes with it is a great deal. I feel student halls improve student experiences. This is my first time in a student hall and it has been the best ever.

Uni Facilities

Leeds Beckett has the most amazing facilities for students right from a 24*7 access to the library to free wifi facilities in the premises to gym facilities. Students also have enough space to park their cycles and cars. The Uni has two campuses, one that gives it a very traditional look and one that is modernized with a nice infrastructure. But, the facilities in both are beyond compare. I feel that the cafeteria can be improved. I also feel that when workshops are cancelled, students must be informed in advance and the staff must figure it out if there is a problem with the system. Every Uni has scope for improvement. But, so far Leeds Beckett has done a fantastic job.

Course and Lecturers

Firstly, UK has a very different education system in comparison to my home country. Leeds Beckett offers a variety of interactive activities within the course modules that involves case studies, workshops, seminars, etc. Even the assessments are in the form of assignments wherein a student needs to do practical research based on secondary information. I like that we have more practicals than theory in MBA.

City Life

There is always something going on in the city. I like that students in the halls are informed at all times about current events. My personal favorite is the student union bar. You not only get discounted food and drinks upon showing your student id. But, they also have activities like pool, a comfortable student ambiance, karaoke night, etc.

Job Prospects

International Students in the UK find it really difficult to be on a work visa. Employability doesn't seem to be the main issue. The University provides on their portal an easy pathway for part time opportunities. But, visa is a problem in almost any country for international students. The UK Degree will definitely help find better jobs in our home country.

Student Support

The one support service for student I am most happy about is the Languages for All. As a student of Leeds Beckett, you have the opportunity to learn one language of your choice for free. As a fresher, you also have a whole line of activities lined up for you especially as international students. The International Students Ambassadors are all around the campuses there to help a student with anything and everything. The Student Hub also provides a lot of support in terms of information. The University will also help you find jobs. It does take efforts from the students side as well.

Having said what you have said would you recommend your uni?
