Course Summary

MSc International Business Management with Finance provides a systematic, comprehensive, in-depth study of international business and finance. You'll develop the ability to critically evaluate and appraise existing theories and ideas about changes taking place in the world of international business. You'll also build an awareness and understanding of how different cultural attitudes and beliefs shape the international business environment in different regions of the world. You'll learn to use scientific research techniques to engage in independent investigation, building knowledge and understanding of particular issues that are the forefront of the different areas covered by the degree. You'll become a more effective decision-taker, with the knowledge, understanding, confidence and skills to engage in independent, original thought which has practical application in the business environment. Employment prospects are excellent. Modules

This module provides you with an understanding of the theory and practice of institutional fund management, particularly as it relates to the UK. We will cover portfolio creation and management, asset allocation and stock selection, and portfolio performance measurement, including the use of benchmarks and their relationship with performance targets and portfolio risk. We will also consider the major types of investment institutions, including their investment aims, time horizons, tax position and regulation.

Entry requirements

Students need Bachelor degree equivalent to UK 2:2 in business or social sciences or a minimum three years' post-qualification experience in a relevant field. Work experience may be useful although it is not essential.
