Students will also build an awareness and understanding of how different cultural attitudes and beliefs shape the international business environment in different regions of the world. Students will learn to use scientific research techniques to engage in independent investigation, building knowledge and understanding of particular issues that are the forefront of the different areas covered by the degree. Students will become a more effective decision-taker, with the knowledge, understanding, confidence and skills to engage in independent, original thought which has practical application in the business environment. The placement provides students with the opportunity to put theory into practice and develop their understanding of business as it applies to the sector as they choose to work in. Employment prospects are excellent. Successful students can, in addition to senior management roles, build a career in a variety of roles in consulting, marketing, finance and human resource management. In this respect the personal development emphasis on the course reflects the skills demanded for flexible roles in managing across a variety of organisational cultures and functions inside multinational companies. LSBU is committed to supporting students to develop their employability and succeed in getting a job after they have graduated. Their qualification will certainly help, but in a competitive market students also need to work on their employability, and on their career search.
