Course Summary

Explore the potential of information systems and digital innovation while developing industry-relevant professional and managerial skills on this flexible master’s programme.

Across sectors, there’s high demand for managers and leaders who are well equipped to bridge the gap between technical and managerial perspectives. This degree has been designed with industry partners to address the need for these sought-after hybrid managers.

Offered full or part-time, this master’s is suitable if you’re new to the subject or already have a grounding in the basics of IT or management. It’s particularly relevant if you’re looking to move towards a leadership role in digital technologies, information systems management, business and digital media analytics, big data or artificial intelligence.

Preparing you with sought-after hard and soft skills

Throughout the programme, you’ll explore the principles and practice of information systems and digital innovation.

There’s a strong focus on topical business challenges, such as the ethical and legislative issues of using digital technologies, the impact of these technologies on employee expectations and business operations, and how to unlock insights from big data to drive business and social improvement.

You’ll also delve into the relationship between traditional technology independent areas of an organisation, and relevant non-technical business areas.

Alongside this, you’ll develop a solid suite of functional hard skills, such as managing information systems, new technologies (including SAP S/4 HANA), cloud computing, ethical AI, technology driven business models, basic coding and analytics.

Plus, you’ll build the key soft skills employers are looking for, including creative problem solving, critical thinking, team working, communication, personal resilience and dealing with organisational volatility.
