This course is designed to produce graduates who understand the professional, managerial and technical dimensions of information management and business technology. There is currently a shortage of hybrid managers within industry and this programme has been developed specifically to address this gap. As a student you will benefit not only from our renowned academic lecturers and state- of- the- art facilities, but also from a range of additional opportunities including industry speakers from companies such as BT, IBM and SAP. Students will study this course from 2 to 4 years in part time basis.

Graduates of this course are equipped with the core skills required to obtain a first professional post in the sector, as well as the learning and leadership skills needed for professional development beyond that. Teaching is provided by our world-renowned specialist staff using a number of methods, including: lectures, seminars, group work, feedback forums, e- learning, one-to-one sessions with programme tutors and workshops. This programme has been developed with industry to address the short-fall in hybrid managers and so doing, to provide graduates with hybrid information management and business technology knowledge and experience.

Business Relationships Management (15 Credits) - Core

This module comes under semester 1. The aims of this module are to develop an understanding of the principles and potential for competitive advantage through effective management of business relationships (supported by relevant systems and technologies), particularly in organisations operating across global boundaries. These relationships include those with customers and suppliers, as well as internal team relationships.

Information Architecture (15 Credits) - Core

This module comes under semester 1. The aims of this module are for students to be able to: understand and distinguish between the information needs of users in an information and knowledge based organisation; understand the technology that has defined the semantic web; understand the new technologies that make up the semantic web; understand the methods available for integrating external and internal data, information and knowledge.

Management of IT Systems (15 Credits) - Core

This module comes under semester 1. The aim of this module is to: give students an understanding of the particular issues and practices involved in the provision and management of (computer-based) IT systems. The focus is on delivering appropriate information reliably when and where required. For existing practitioners it is designed to encourage them to reflect on the current working practices, considering both wider issues and current best practice solutions.
