This PhD course aims to provide international leadership in research and innovation and an unrivalled educational experience. The Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering is one of the biggest engineering schools of its kind in the UK. You will be assigned supervisors with expertise in the chosen research area, with additional guidance and pastoral support available from the Director of Doctoral Programmes, and other departmental academic staff as appropriate.

We provide a structured induction programme to familiarise you with the School and University, and training and research seminars throughout your studies. You will be provided with a computer plus access to library and IT services. The School has a vibrant, international community of postgraduate research students. During your time with us, you will able to publish your research findings in top peer-reviewed scientific journals, present your research findings at leading international conferences and network with scientists and industrial partners to maximise the impact of your research and start building your own professional network. Recent graduate destinations include: Jaguar Land Rover, Research Project Engineer; Rolls-Royce, Head of Manufacturing Systems; adidas Germany, Mechanical Engineer; Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Lecturer; Mzuzu University etc.
