Core to the MSc is the active programme of field visits - including overseas trips where students have the opportunity to hear from expert speakers, attend seminar programmes and gain valuable networking opportunities. The course is designed for graduates in tourism, geography, business and other social science degrees who are looking to acquire specialist knowledge and skills in tourism management. It is particularly relevant for international students who wish to further their career in tourism management within their home countries. Modules

This module aims to establish the groundwork for understanding the theoretical concepts of tourism as a business whilst preparing students to critique and develop management skills to run tourism businesses. Students will gain an insight into the business of international tourism, through exploring and analysing international tourism demand and supply. They will also develop a critical understanding of the strategic process of business management and human resource development across the different sectors.

Entry requirements

Students need to have a 2:2 honours degree or above in a tourism-relevant subject, or an equivalent qualification We also consider candidates with a minimum of three years' work experience in tourism/hospitality who have a degree in a non-relevant subject or a relevant CPD certification. Those without formal qualifications need to demonstrate relevant work experience and the ability to study at postgraduate level. We also normally require Grade C GCSE or an equivalent qualification.
