Education MA

Overall Rating

I am a part time student, studying alongside my job as a teacher. The course so far has been informative and incredibly interesting. Above all, Newman has given me the confidence to study for my Masters with my well being at the heart of their practice. As a result, I am a more reflective and assured practitioner with a developing understanding of the education sector- allowing me to pick modules that build a qualification that suits my career goals.
I cannot fault Newman and am very proud to be part of their student faculty.

Uni Facilities

Library is a peaceful place to study with plenty of space.
Great coffee shop!
There is always a friendly and welcoming atmosphere even during lockdown!

Course and Lecturers

My course so far has been taught online (via Zoom) with additional tutorials on request. My tutor is available via email and will respond to any queries within 24 hours (usually within an hour or two!). The lectures have been informative with the right amount of supported reading. I work as a secondary school teacher and this has been manageable, with the course fitting comfortably into my working hours. Contact with university staff (from site team to course leaders) has always been helpful with everyone happy to help.
I cannot rate this university highly enough!

Job Prospects

Similar to the above response, I haven't used this yet but I receive regular career webinars and contact from the careers team so I know that if I do want support, I can easily access this.

Student Support

I haven't required access to these services but I have been made fully aware of the support offered. This is reassuring. Newman clearly care about their students.
I love Thought for the Day and am really pleased to see the spiritual ethos of the university being upheld. This was particularly helpful during lockdown. Thank you Margaret Holland! x
