Northumbria University’s London campus is based right in the heart of the city, and with the University’s focus specialisation in industry-focused degrees, you’ll find yourself perfectly placed to search for work experience and internships and rub shoulder with all the right sorts of people as you think ahead to your career.

Many of the business-related postgraduate degrees can be studied full time or part time in one-to-two years, to fit in with your busy schedule. You can also be secure in the knowledge that you’ll be graduating with a degree from a well-respected institution, with a network of over 200,000 alumni in more than 160 countries.

You’ll find your job prospects are pretty rosy with a degree from Northumbria, as 94.7 % of graduates are in work or further study within six months. Northumbria has also been ranked 1st in the UK for start-ups, based on estimated turnover and jobs created (HEBCIS 2015/16).

The postgraduate courses at Northumbria’s London campus are fast-paced and immersive, and designed to get you ready for the world of work. You can study all aspects of Business and Management, from Brand Management, to Marketing and Web and Mobile Development Technologies.

You’ll also have the option to study some master’s degrees with additional elements in Advanced Practice, Professional Study Preparation or even an apprenticeship, so you’ll have plenty of chances to hone your professional and practical skills.

The Student Activities Association (SAA) operates on Northumbria’s London campus, organising fun events ranging from pub quizzes to discounted theatre trips, so you can meet your course mates and make friends!

You’ll also be able to talk to the SAA volunteer ambassadors about any questions or concerns you might have – they’re happy to hear your feedback! You’ll find them in the social spaces on campus most days.

Alternatively, London is home to a variety of private student residences in a number of convenient locations. Whether you’re after an en-suite room in a shared flat or even your own apartment, you’re sure to find something that fits the bill, as near or far from the campus as you choose.

You’ll have access to top notch facilities at the Northumbria London campus. Located just minutes from the City of London with all its activity, the campus is a quiet and friendly place to study, equipped with modern classrooms, work stations and study spaces, as well as social areas where you can relax between classes, too.

There’s no better place to be a student than London and based near Liverpool Street on the London campus, you’ll be right in the thick of it.

Close to the campus you’ll find plenty of nightspots from the city’s many pubs, to more upmarket bars and restaurants. Venture in central London and the West End, and you’ll find heaving clubs, student-friendly bars and eateries and West End shows. The West End is also a great spot to enjoy some free comedy – just hang around on Leicester Square for five minutes and you’re sure to pick up a flyer or two telling you where to go.

It’s not all about food and drink though, as you can also enjoy a cultural experience at London’s dozens of cheap and free museums and art galleries, including world-renowned destinations like the British Museum and the Tate Modern.

London is metropolitan city with a diverse community from all over the world, meaning no matter that your hobby, you’ll be able to find people who share your passion. You can meet people through the London campus’ SAA events, or through local community events.

If your interest in sports, there are several league and non-league teams you can join all over London and plenty of free public sports pitches where you can practice your skills or find some new people to play against.

Your student status will also entitle you to discounted membership at many of the city’s gyms, where you can play sports, work out and join various exercise classes.

You’ll have induction sessions to help you settle into student life, show you around the campus and meet new friends.

You’ll find a dedicated member of the Northumbria Students’ Union at the London campus at all times; they can offer you support and advice, and tell you more about the services and activities available where you are.

International

London is one of the most international cities in the world and you’ll find people from almost every country imaginable living here, so you’re sure to meet friends from your own country and learn more about other cultures, too.

If you need to improve your English language or academic skills before enrolling on your degree, you may find it helpful to study a pathway programme. On the London campus, you can study Pre-Sessional English or a Pre-Master’s course, depending on your requirements.

Postgraduate

Northumbria University’s London campus is popular with postgraduate students and offers a range of master’s degrees. They cater for working professionals too, with part time study options and lectures scheduled on the weekend, so you can complete your course in your own time.

UK Students per Year:

Postgraduate degrees on the London campus are priced between £6,990 and £15,860, depending on the course. EU students can expect to pay the same in the 2019/20 academic year.

International Students per Year:

International students will pay a little more for their master’s degree, with prices ranging between £15,000 and £21,860 in 2019/20.

The University offers country-specific and merit scholarships for EU and international students who are studying full time.

If you are from the UK or EU, you will also be able to apply for a government loan in excess of £10,000 to help you fund your studies.

The Northumbria London campus’ offering concentrates on industry-informed courses in Business, Computing and Management, with a range of different specialisms you can follow.

Northumbria prides itself on creating graduates who are fully equipped with the skills they need to succeed in these high-flying industries.

You’ll need a first degree with a minimum classification of 2:2 to enrol on Northumbria’s London-based master’s degrees, usually in any subject. Some courses may also accept recent, related work experience in lieu of academic qualifications; check with the university before applying if this is you.

International students will need to hold at least IELTS 6.5 to embark on a postgraduate degree at Northumbria.

Although the focus is very much on taught courses at this campus, all of the degrees here will involve varying degrees of research and independent study, as well as a dissertation.

Given the focus on practical and employment skills at the Northumbria London campus, all of their postgraduate degrees are taught courses, although actual teaching hours vary between degrees.

At the moment, you can’t study any of Northumbria’s postgraduate degrees through distance learning, but you can study some courses part-time, with a flexible timetable that includes lectures scheduled for weekends and evenings.
