MSc Nursing Science Registered Nurse (Mental Health)

NORTHUMBRIA UNIVERSITY, NEWCASTLE
Overall Rating

The best experience has been moving into accommodation and meeting lifelong friends - not on same course.
Some lovely and inspiring lecturers.

The worst aspects have been poor communication with students, particularly following covid-19. Clique feeling within faculty, and a level of nepotism for certain students.
Terrible communication with placement organisation, poor organisational skills with practice placements team.
Unanswered emails regarding important things, poor support for students not experiencing a good placement.
Changing of assessments, expectation of completing physical nursing skills without offering the provision to do these in a practical setting.
A lot of smoke and mirrors, jargon and repetitive competencies.
Complete overhaul or curriculum from 1st - 2nd year & changing PAD document to online from 2nd - 3rd year with limited support.
Poor delivery of online teaching. Remaining on online teaching despite government lockdown legislation being lifted.
