Course Summary

The MSc Management and Global Supply Chain Management is a unique course for those considering a career within logistics, operations and supply chain management. You’ll explore the management of operations at a strategic level, before developing your understanding of the global supply chain and how organisations within it perform in relation to one another. During your studies you will be firmly rooted in understanding the global supply chain and we’ll provide you a broad knowledge of the principles and concepts underlying the strategic and operational performance of organisations in relation to one another within the international supply chain. You’ll build on your practical skills by analysing realistic data to explore the questions you might confront in an operations role, and / or in a global supply chain environment. In this course you will gain the following: demonstrate a broad knowledge of the principles and concepts underlying the strategic and operational performance of organisations in relation to one another within the international supply chain; demonstrate the role of operations theory in evaluating the strategic implications of variation and uncertainty on supply chain performance; apply knowledge, tools and techniques to resolve issues in new and diverse situations within the Management discipline; develop skills to learn to work collaboratively in internationally diverse teams and demonstrate the ability to make recommendations for organisational practice based on theoretical insights through a process of experiential or applied learning. At Nottingham Business School, we’re focused on your employability from the start of your postgraduate degree. We provide you with a learning experience that integrates theory and practice. Graduates from this course have gone onto roles within the public, private and third sector, undertaking positions such as: logistics manager; consultant; acquisitions sales manager; supply chain consultant and organisational development consultant.
