The Personal and Professional Development module focuses on your career and professional and supports you throughout your MBA programme.

An individual Personal Development Journal helps you to make the most of your learning so you directly benefit from the MBA while studying as well as after graduation.

With support from your Academic Advisor, both virtually and face-to-face during the two workshops, you keep track of your development and actions for future growth.

The Personal and Professional Development module ends with an assessed Career Action Plan, which helps guide you through your future career.

Reflective assignments and coaching and leadership challenges provide you with the practical experience to develop your critical thinking skills and leadership capability. At MBA Community events, industry visits and the MBA Summer School you have opportunities to soak up knowledge from industry experts and network with executives.

On this module you will develop the tools required to analyse the wider business environment, industry structure and business dynamics. You will be introduced to, and encouraged to critically discuss, the concepts, models and techniques that you will use throughout the MBA programme.

Entry requirements

We welcome students from all regions of the world and from a wide range of sectors and job functions. Our students come from technical or engineering backgrounds; they’re experienced project managers, local government or healthcare professionals, doctors and accountants working in the energy, IT, education and charity sectors. And it’s this diversity which enhances your MBA journey and provides you with an experienced MBA network to work with and learn from. You will need: a minimum of three years' relevant managerial or professional experience; a good degree (or GPA equivalent) or relevant postgraduate/post-experience qualification from a recognised institution, or a professional qualification from an approved and recognised body which is equivalent to a degree; two written references (normally one academic). Alternatively it is possible to enter the MBA programme without a degree on the basis of a minimum of seven years' relevant managerial or professional experience.
