In general, you will usually need to have an undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as fine arts, graphic design, or art history but this does vary so it’s worth doing your own research.
Some common topics that might be covered include painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography, video, installation, performance, digital media, art theory and art history for example.
A postgraduate degree in art can help you develop your skills and knowledge in your chosen area of study, build your portfolio, network with other artists, curators, and art professionals, and advance your career in the art world. It can open new job opportunities, such as teaching positions, museum or gallery work, or freelance work or help you gain recognition and establish yourself as a professional artist.
