Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following academic achievement: Undergraduate: Successful candidates will be required to achieve very good results in the equivalent of UK A Levels. The marking scales used to assess performance in school-level qualifications vary significantly between type of qualification, country and individual subject areas. As a result, when deciding whether a candidate's grades represent outstanding academic performance, the University's experience and knowledge of the relevant educational system, qualification and marking scheme will be taken into consideration. Postgraduate: Successful candidates will be required to achieve the equivalent of a very good UK bachelor degree. Individual module/subject grades (including resist) will be considered. Percentage marking systems: the marking scale used in percentage-based grading systems varies widely between countries, subjects and institutions. As a result, when deciding whether a candidate's grades represent outstanding academic performance, the University's experience and knowledge of the country's educational system, of the student's subject area and of the marking systems used by individual institutions will be taken into consideration. Where appropriate, the overall ranking of the candidate within their cohort will also be taken into account. The scholarship is available for all new full-time students who have been assessed as overseas for fee purposes, who are self-funded and who have been issued an offer to study at the University of Hertfordshire.
