Course summary

This course is for practising engineers or graduates who want to become technical specialists or managers in industrial and manufacturing companies. The course's multi-dimensional diversity is actively used in teaching as it is particularly relevant to engineers and managers working in a globalised economy. The course is geared towards employability and building on your own experiences. It takes a problem-centred approach, providing real life examples wherever possible, to enable you to apply the theory and concepts you are being taught. This course is accredited by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) for the purposes of partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Graduates who have a BEng (Hons) accredited for CEng will be able to show that they have satisfied the further learning requirement for CEng accreditation.

Entry requirements

Students need to have one from: an honours degree (2.2 or above) in a science or engineering subject; suitable professional qualifications in an engineering field; a degree in any discipline plus at least one year of relevant experience; a diploma in a technological area plus at least three years of relevant experience.
