Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at St Mary's University, Twickenham

Best place to study, good supportive teachers read full review
The university is very close to London. Meaning you are very close to many interesting sites and activities to do.
The campus looks great, all the time.

I think what could be improved could the tutors and lecturers challenging students more. It is understandable that sometimes it is hard to get answers from students in tutorials. However, there are plenty of students who really want to do well.

I think sometimes, the student union can be a bit of a popularity contest, perhaps there could be more events aimed at engaging students who are not always into the loud parties and sports. read full review
The support is overwhelmingly good. Plus the diversity of backgrounds make it a home for all irrespective of religion or orientation.
Sometimes I feel like I should study a course that will take me more years to complete read full review
St Mary's feels very much like home. The campus and staff is really warm. They are really interested in student's growth and wellbeing. There is an amazing support team ready to listen and offer help. As a PGCE student, what I love most is the emphasis on wellbeing and how we are being taught to prioritise not just our studies but also ourselves. The school system is also so organized and every information comes in just when it's needed. I absolutely love St Mary's! read full review
The best part is that St. Mary's is a small university so it feels like a very supportive community. We have great well-being resources and events, such as Wobble Week, and campus is really beautiful. The worst part is probably that the Students' Union could be a bit more modern and cosy. I would also love some better quality tennis courts. read full review

Small so easy to find your way around read full review
The worst was the room I slept in. It’s not that bad but in the summer it was so hot, I couldn’t really sleep good because the room was really hot.

The best is how it looks and feels on the campus, the place is beautiful, old but renovated and in a very good state. I really like my time when I’m in the campus for the summer onsite read full review
Since it is an online course, I can't really rate the campus, and location but otherwise I would say that help is always available. I also feel that the lecturers really care for you. They do the extra bit of guiding you, giving you information that is relevant to you and helping you to get through the course. You really feel like you belong.
One thing that I feel needs to improve is the tech and IT parts. I had a lot of trouble installing some apps because the information on how to install the app was all over the place. For beginners, we really don't know anything about the app so it is really helpful if the instructions mention everything from the very start to the very end without assuming that some things are obvious, because in reality, for us, they are not. It would really be helpful if the instructions are simple as if they were meant for a child and if they were all in one place so that we don't have to navigate from one page of the course to another. Overall, the technical part and all technical instructions and information should be more user friendly and accessible. read full review
