Course outline
The Faculty of Health Sciences provides opportunities for research to MPhil and PhD level or MPhil with transfer to PhD. The route to your degree will give you a unique intellectual challenge and an opportunity to work on a project in-depth under expert supervision, exploring your topic and producing a thesis from your research in preparing for your viva in which you will defend your thesis.
As part of your research development you may also complete a short course (the Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods) that builds up your knowledge and skills concerning the nature and practicalities of academic research.
Full-time research degree fees for Home/EU students are set in accordance with Research England guidance (2019/20: £4,327). A pro-rata fee is charged to part-time students.
