I have fully enjoy my time at Swansea University, the place the people and the surrounding area provide a great place to be. I have lived in many places around the UK and Swansea is my favorite place to be.
The Union is great there are always meetings or events to go to.
There are some great clubs/societies to get involved in from sports such as american football, diving, archery, swimming and surfing to other areas such as drama and reading.
The facilities are great there is an Olympic swimming pool next door, a wide variety of food is available along with onsite shops for general items and Swansea University branded merchandise. The beach is on the doorstep and Swansea itself is a great up and coming vibrant city, with the Gower down the road it is beautiful.
The ability to study in your own time is a bonus although this can be a hindrance if you do not have the self control to keep on top of the work.
The city life is great there is plenty to do with many student deals on everything from bowling and the cinema to windsurfing to nights on the town. With many areas of natural outstanding beauty surrounding it.
Opportunities arise for students willing to ask and get involved, there are always current research projects which are ongoing that students are able to gain experience in and add to the CV. The careers department is available to help you with direction and build on the necessary skills to apply for positions. Part time teaching/lab assistance jobs are posted to further enhance your employability. For further job prospects Swansea University circulates any potential PhD, volunteer and job openings to current students.
The feedback is timely and informative, any personal counselling or money worries etc are dealt with appropriately. The staff here want you to pass and for yourself to feel comfortable whilst doing so and it shows. I personally received help surrounding a landlord withholding a deposit, through the help provided i was able to get the deposit returned.
