COURSE OVERVIEW

MSc Public Health and Health Promotion (PHHP) is a long-established course designed to meet the varied forms of public health practice. Your studies will integrate public health theory and practice, with a strong focus on health promotion, to provide significant contributions to the public health service throughout Wales, the UK and Internationally.

Studying alongside students from a range of industries and professions, you will develop an understanding of the multidimensional nature of public health, considering both the traditional medical perspective and wider socio-economic determinants of health.

Course content is informed by regional, national and global policy, providing relevant learning outcomes for both home and international students, and all teaching is underpinned by the evidence base for public health practice to build a course where students develop the skills and knowledge required to work within a national and global health arena.

Modules

The purpose of this module is to provide a critical understanding of the research process and methodological approaches to sound applied research. The module will be delivered in a systematic approach facilitating individual and group learning, and will stimulate the development of research skills that will enable learners to apply them in their work environment and contribute to strengthening the notion and implementation of evidence based practice.
