These website terms of use and our Privacy Policy as amended by us from time to time ("terms") govern your use of our website, http://www.hotcourses.com and any and all services that we make available on or through our website. By using our website, you are agreeing to these terms. Please stop using our website if you do not agree to these terms.

POSTGRADUATE SEARCH (HOTCOURSES) PRIVACY NOTICE

This privacy notice has been compiled to help you understand why we ask you for your personal information, when you use one of our websites and how we will use this information.

This policy applies to all visitors to our website whether they are registered or not. This includes people responding to surveys, competitions and writing reviews. In addition, we may ask you for your personal details at one of the Hotcourses-sponsored events, students fairs etc. We will always explain the purpose of our data collection before we ask you for your personal details.

What information do we collect about you on Postgraduate Search?

You can browse our websites without providing any personal information, however if you would like the enhanced website experience and thus make an enquiry to a course provider, you will need to register with us.

When you contact an institution, download prospectuses or a pdf help pack, you will need to supply your email address and other information. This action will automatically register you as a member of the Postgraduate Search community.

When you register as a Member, we may collect some or all of the following information about you:

a) your name, username, email address, password
b) your postcode and address
c) information about your current educational status
d) your course, subject area and institution of interest
e) your grades or predicted grades
f) your phone number
g) your date of birth
h) your nationality and country of residence
i) your current school, college, or university.

In this Privacy Policy, we refer to the information above and any other personally identifiable information that we may request from you and that you may provide to us (including your Profile) as "Personal Information".

Hotcourses Ltd also collects potentially personally-identifying information that is collected by Google Analytics. The analytics feature Hotcourses has implemented is based on Display Advertising (e.g., Remarketing, Google Display Network Impression Reporting, the Doubleclick Campaign Manager integration, or Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting). Visitors can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customer Display Network ads using Ads Settings.

How we use your information?

1. When someone visits our website we use cookies to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns.

You can email us if you have any questions regarding the search criteria on Postgraduate Search. When you find a course you like on one of our websites, you can either request more details from the course provider or, if the option is available, book the course directly.

Disclosure of personal information

In many circumstances we will not disclose personal data without your consent unless required by law.

Hotcourses Limited is the principal company and the Data Controller in the Hotcourses Group of companies (Hotcourses India Pvt. Ltd., Hotcourses Pty Ltd (Australia), Hotcourses Inc. (North America) and Complete University Guide). We may share your personal information with organisations that are part of the same group as the data controller as those companies may provide services to you over our websites.). To ensure your details are protected at the same level as in the United Kingdom, we have put agreements in place to ensure these companies comply with the Hotcourses Privacy Policy and the Data Protection Act 1998.

Another instance when we may share your personal information is when you make an enquiry to a course provider and/or download a pdf help pack or prospectus. In these circumstances we pass on your contact details to the course provider so that they can contact you directly.

On our website there are lots of links to course provider websites. This privacy notice does not cover these links. We encourage you to read the privacy statements on the other websites that you visit.
