Leading and Changing Organisations (10 Credits) - Core

This is fundamental to a manager’s personal effectiveness, the effectiveness of those they manage, and, ultimately, a manager’s career progression. In turn, understanding behaviour and change is also strongly linked to human resources management, together with aspects of operations management and strategic management. Accordingly, the course is divided into two major sections: Fundamentals of managing people and Leadership, Culture, Change & High Performance.

International Economic Environment (10 Credits) - Core

The module is split into two parts. The first microeconomic part focuses on the immediate business environment and examines the functioning of markets and the impact of location on business behaviour and performance. The second macroeconomic part focuses on the broader business environment and examines the functioning of national economies and the global economy as a whole. Throughout, economic theory will be strongly related to past and current economic events.

Strategy (10 Credits) - Core

On completion of this module, you will be able to understand why strategy is important; comprehend the different schools of strategy (including different levels of strategy) and the strategic management process; analyse competitive strategies and understand the nature of competitive advantage; recognise the key analytical tools in strategy and strategic management; develop insight into international strategy; acknowledge the role of leadership in delivering change; appreciate leadership in different environments; prepare a strategic plan for an organisation; display confidence in developing and leading people to a better future.
