Although halls of residence places are not currently offered to postgraduate students, there’s plenty of accommodation options available in the local and surrounding areas.
From flat shares and short-term lodgings to landlords and rental agreements, Edge Hill’s Accommodation Team will help guide students through the big decisions and the small print too. The team has an excellent relationship with private sector landlords and partnership accommodation in the local area, along with house-hunting workshops and drop-in advice sessions to help students find a place to call home, particularly for those who are new to the area.
There’s even a dedicated PGCE accommodation sharing list to help students meet other PGCE students who are looking for a place to live, as well as a flatmate finder Facebook group. Average costs for local accommodation options are between £75-150 per week. More information can be found on the Edge Hill website.
Facilities
Take one look at Edge Hill’s campus and it’s easy to see why it’s award-winning. Investment in new spaces never stands still. £350m over the last decade has created an outstanding campus that not only prepares students to take the next step in their career, but also provides an inspiring environment for academic excellence.
The campus is one with forward-thinking study spaces, collaborative hideaways and simulated workplaces. When students need a break from their studies, there’s plenty of green spaces, coffee spots and sports facilities available to help them unwind.
This continuous progress is acknowledged by Edge Hill’s latest success, placed 2nd in the UK for university facilities (Whatuni Student Choice Awards, 2022). Specialist facilities include:
Experimental laboratories
Sports therapy and rehab clinic
The CAVE: 4k super immersive virtual 3D environment
