Entry requirements for postgraduate study at Leeds Trinity University depend on the course chosen, and students should see individual course pages on the university’s website for details.
Typically, for taught master’s level study, an undergraduate degree with second-class honours is required in a relevant subject area. Some courses may require students to attend an interview or submit a portfolio of work.
However, there are many alternative routes to enrolment, and students who have left education and wish to return may be able to use experience in the workplace in lieu of the required qualifications. The university’s admission team considers each application individually, encouraging anyone with the wish to study at Leeds Trinity to submit an application. The team is available year-round to answer queries and questions.
International
International students will be required to demonstrate their understanding of the English language. All courses at Leeds Trinity are taught in English. For the majority of postgraduate programmes, the minimum requirement is an overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no component below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification. Some courses have higher requirements.

When students join the university, they automatically become a member of Leeds Trinity Students’ Union (LTSU). LTSU organises events throughout the year and provides support and advice to students at both campuses, and online via their website which gives access to all kinds of free and useful resources.
Leeds Trinity University has a range of clubs and societies for students to join. Many are free to sign up to, and provide a great opportunity to try something new, learn a skill or develop an existing interest alongside like-minded individuals.
Leeds is home to more than 60,000 students, and the city centre is only a 12-minute train ride from the main campus in Horsforth, providing all the nightlife and entertainment students could wish for. The city boasts a great variety of bars and clubs, with many offering regular student nights.

Accommodation is available for postgraduate students and is available across two locations: the Main Campus in Horsforth and Leeds city centre. Students are able to stay in the location that best meets their needs.
All rooms in halls of residence are en-suite, and include free Wi-Fi, as well as access to communal facilities including a gym and laundrette. For the 2026 academic year, prices start at £119 per week.

The Andrew Kean Learning Centre on the Horsforth Main Campus offers a 24-hour IT study space and café, and at key points of the academic year it remains open 24/7. It provides the ideal study space for all students, whether they prefer to learn solo or as part of a group.

Leeds Trinity University offers a small number of scholarships and bursaries available to assist eligible postgraduate students with the cost of their studies.
Postgraduate students who already hold an undergraduate degree from Leeds Trinity University are eligible for a tuition fee discount on their postgraduate course. This discount could be as much as 50 percent for students who have secured an upper second-class honours degree.
