The Norwich University of the Arts Students’ Union is an independent organisation that operates in partnership with the university, working to make sure that students’ voices are heard and influencing decision-making across the institutions.
Student representatives are elected every academic year and form a part of the SU’s core team. These students will be able to link the student body and course directors, teachers and university administration. Any student at the university can run to be a union representative and gain experiences that will benefit them throughout their professional lives.
The students’ union also supports a large variety of student societies and clubs across all sorts of activities and interests. It also acts as a hub for different support services, offering support and guidance across personal or academic issues.
Norwich University of the Arts’s official university magazine, Storehouse, is published by the union and showcases the recent work of students and their achievements.
Clubs and societies
The students’ union at Norwich is dedicated to making sure that students at the university get the most out of their time there and can contribute to the university’s vibrant community. Students can choose from over 20 different societies or clubs, covering all sorts of interests and activities from Badminton to BAME society, Volleyball and Vegan society.
The union also supports students who want to start their own society, and ensures that societies are open to all students, of any background or skill level. Starting a new society is a great way to meet new people and contribute to the student lifestyle in Norwich.
Students can also get involved in Storehouse, the university’s official magazine, which is designed and developed by students for students. It’s a great way to get involved in the student community, build skills for later life, and help showcase the great work of Norwich University of the Arts students.

Norwich is an unbeatable city for student living and is regarded as one of the best small cities on the planet. The city is also one of the safest cities in the UK, along with being amongst the greenest, and a very affordable place for students. Students can choose from a range of museums, galleries, shops and markets to entertain themselves with during their free time, in addition to a rich calendar of events and festivals.
Norwich is a lively city with a range of pubs, bars, music and arts venues, restaurants and cafes available to suit every taste and time of day.
Students at Norwich University of the Arts can easily escape the city and find areas of outstanding natural beauty on their doorstep, including the North Norfolk coast and the Norfolk Broads. Exploring the UK capital or the rest of the world is always easy due to the city’s strong public transport and road connections, and easy access to international airports.
A wealth of innovative digital businesses and creative institutions means that students at Norwich University of the Arts will be well placed to get involved in and progress in relevant industries, from the day they move to Norwich.
