For entry to postgraduate certificates (PgCert), postgraduate diplomas (PgDip) or a master’s degree applicants normally need one of the following:
a good honours degree (at least a 2:2) in a subject related to the field of study

Teesside University Students’ Union offers support, advice, social spaces, food and drink, and a shop. It also provides a fantastic range of more than 90 active sports clubs and special interest societies, including a postgraduate society.
Clubs and societies
The students’ union activities team manages a range of societies, and Teesside Sport organises the sports clubs. Whether students want to join a team sport such as football, rugby or basketball, or a special interest society such as battle re-enactment, music or LGBTQ+ – there’s something for everyone. The activities team can also help students to set up a society of their own.
City life
Nestled between the North Yorkshire Moors and the north east coast, Middlesbrough is just three hours by train from London and Edinburgh. York, Durham and Newcastle are one hour by train. With a town-centre campus, the town’s shops, bars and restaurants are on the doorstep as well as an international art gallery and cinema.
Teesside University has a wide variety of accommodation options for postgraduate students, suitable for a variety of preferences and budgets.
The university aims to place postgraduate and mature students together in campus accommodation. There are over 1,100 rooms on campus and 300 off campus, with £21.4 million recently invested to develop more contemporary, on-campus accommodation for future postgraduate students.
Prices start from £85 a week including rent, bills and Wi-Fi.
Facilities

A vibrant and inspiring new facility with an open, New York style apartment feel, it offers individual and collaborative workspaces, a quiet zone and a computer lab, as well as a social lounge and refreshment facilities.
Teesside University offers a range of student support services, including advice on careers, grants, loans and benefits, as well as health and wellbeing, academic guidance, counselling and disability support. Teesside is a close-knit community which prides itself on the accessibility and sensitivity of its support services, which are centralised in their cutting-edge Student Life building. Students can also flexibly access support online.
The students’ union also has a professional support team providing independent guidance on academic and student support issues. In addition, there's a mediation service to help students who are in conflict with housemates, and the Union advertises a range of part-time jobs.
There’s amazing entrepreneurial support too in the form of Teesside Launchpad - really useful for enterprising students who would like to set up their own business. Whether students wish to go on to further academia, or take the first steps into their chosen career pathway and enter the professional workspace, Teesside University is there to support them at every step of the way.
Eligible students who recently graduated with first-class honours in their undergraduate degree may benefit from a 20% discount towards postgraduate taught degree (part-time or full-time) tuition fees.
Sir Keith Skeoch Scholarship
There are four £2,500 scholarships available through the University's School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Law and Teesside University International Business School, for postgraduate students.
