All the university’s accommodation is conveniently located close to the campus.
Most places in university halls of residence are occupied by undergraduate students, but there are places available for postgraduates who can request to live alongside other postgraduate students.
There is a wide range of private accommodation located close to campus, and the university works closely with registered landlords to ensure that there is a wide range of affordable and suitable accommodation available to students.
Students can visit the university’s accommodation webpages to find a place in halls of residence.
Students can also explore the StudentPad website to browse private accommodation offered through landlords who have registered with the university.
Facilities
The university recently invested £200 million in regenerating its Preston Campus, a short five-minute walk from the city centre. At its heart is its new £60 million Student Centre, which contains dedicated advice and support services. It also includes an attractive rooftop garden, and many recreational spaces.
University Square is a vibrant hub at the heart of campus and one of the largest public spaces to have opened in England for many years. It's a beautiful tree-lined space which forms an impressive gateway between the campus and the city. The five-storey Library building is open 24/7 during term-time. As well as housing thousands of academic books and journals, it provides computer suites, printing facilities, spaces for individual and group study, and a coffee shop.
All students can enjoy free membership of the Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre as well as the nearby Sports Arena, giving access to gym facilities, indoors and outdoors sports surfaces, and fitness classes all year round.
The Oasis Faith and Spirituality Centre welcomes people of all faiths and none. There are spaces for prayer, worship and quiet reflection, with support from a multi-faith chaplaincy team.
Other key facilities on campus include a medical centre, pharmacy and Pre-School Centre.
Students at the university’s Burnley and Westlakes campus also benefit from access to support services, students’ union opportunities, cafes, a library and nearby sports facilities.
