The University of Chichester is a respected institution that offers some excellent postgraduate study programmes. It has two campuses: one in the centre of Chichester, a charming and historic town, and the other close to the sea in Bognor Regis.
Both sites are easily connected by a regular inter-campus bus service. Across the two sites, students have access to a range of state-of-the-art facilities including a sports centre, the Engineering and Digital Technology Park, the students’ union, a restaurant, a theatre and a learning resource centre.
The University of Chichester combines an outstanding education with a fantastic community feel, offering a rewarding study-life balance. Smaller campuses, close-knit student bodies and a highly supportive network of teaching and assistance staff ensure that students all have a positive experience and can reach their potential.
The university’s SU works hard to make sure that this smaller university still offers plenty of exciting social opportunities, via a wide range of sports clubs, societies, and events held throughout the year.
Alongside the fantastic facilities, the university also has support teams able to cater to all student needs. Students can get help and advice on matters related to physical and mental health, finances, careers guidance, study skills and more.
University of Chichester students on Postgraduate Search say:
“The uni has great facilities and incredible lecturers who give attention to all students”

“The tutors are amazing & supportive; I have nothing but praise & respect for them.”
Students have the choice of studying either a taught or research degree at postgraduate level.
The majority of taught degrees can be studied on either a full or part-time basis, allowing for students to choose whether they complete their degree in a year, or work at their own pace. They are led by expert faculty who have extensive experience in their field – students will learn not just the academic knowledge required to become an expert themselves, but also how that knowledge is applied in the real world, from those who’ve been there and done it already.
The majority of the courses also offer the opportunity to undertake a work placement, allowing students to gain work experience and build connections during their time studying. These placements are extremely valuable and can sometimes lead to job offers upon graduation.
All courses are taught using the latest research and developments in a field, using professional-grade facilities and equipment.
Research degrees are more student-led, but there are still excellent support networks available to ensure that students are able to get the assistance they need with their work.
University of Chichester students on Postgraduate Search say:
“Lecturers always go out of their way to support you.”
“They really care about the wellbeing of the students and prioritize the communication between lecturers and students.”
“They give very targeted teaching to the students and always go out of their way to ensure we all get the right support. They are the true definition of a school that gives person centred teaching.”
Entry requirements vary for different courses, but the university encourages all students to consider applying. While some courses are highly competitive and have only limited availability for students, there are others which are able to accept a broader range of applicants.
Students don’t need to have completed an undergraduate degree to apply for all courses at postgraduate level, although some will require it. Others may permit students who are returning to education following time spent employed, with career hours counting towards an applicant’s experience.
Some courses may have additional criteria for admission, such as an interview or a portfolio of prior work. All essential information is provided on the university’s website on individual course pages, so students are advised to check as early as possible so that they can prepare the necessary documentation or evidence. All courses are taught in English, so international students may need to provide test scores for approved English Language qualifications.
