Postgraduate courses at the University of Salford are organised across the university’s four academic schools: the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology; Salford Business School; the School of Health and Society; and the School of Science, Engineering and Environment. Postgraduate

Entry requirements vary on a course-by-course basis. Prospective students should consult individual course pages for relevant entry requirements.
Postgraduate students must submit supporting documents with their application. While requirements vary from course to course, they usually include references and an academic transcript, or relevant certificates, demonstrating that students have either met or are on track to meet the entry requirements for their chosen course.
Research students
Prospective research students must also submit a research proposal and identify a research supervisor, ensuring that their specialist subject area is covered by one of the university’s experienced academics.
The proposal must also be discussed with the postgraduate research admissions contact attached to the applicant’s chosen school. The research admissions contact will explain what is expected from them in their subject area.

The University of Salford’s Students' Union (SU) is a student-run organisation that acts as the voice of the student body. The SU aims to give fair and frequent representation to its students and gets everyone engaged in the university’s community through the coordination of an exciting yearly programme of activities.

Joining a club is a great way of meeting new people, and the SU offers a variety of societies, from educational and cultural to general interest groups. The main library on Peel Park campus is open 24 hours a day, 364 days a year, and offers thousands of journals and textbooks, computers, printing devices and allocated areas for group work and silent study. Academic and research facilities across the University of Salford include state-of-the-art TV and radio studios, a journalism centre, the Energy House (a full-scale building in an environmental chamber), an integrated laboratory for environment and life sciences research, a human performance laboratory, a podiatry clinic, an anechoic chamber, and much more.

Some courses offer options for part-time attendance, making the university’s high-quality education available to those who are already employed or have other commitments during the week.
For vocational subjects, modules include practical work placements, networking opportunities, live projects, and exhibitions.
