Situated close to the university, the Campus Village houses over 1440 students in self-catered rooms, with a management team and night porter service providing security and emergency cover. The Campus Village has its own bank, bar and laundry services.
Further accommodation is provided off-campus just a short distance away, with private accommodation available across the city.
All new students living outside a 25-mile radius of the city centre are eligible for university accommodation. There are eight different halls of residence:
James Young Hall (4-6 students per flat, £141 a week for a standard room)
James Goold Hall (5-8 students in each flat, £141 a week)
Murray Hall (£110 a week)
Garnett Hall (4-6 students in each flat, £110 a week)
Chancellors Hall (3-6 students in each flat, £141 for a double bed)
Birkbeck Court (6 students per flat, £104 a week)
Forbes Hall (4-6 students in each flat, £110 a week)
Andrew Ure Hall (4-6 students per flat, £110 a week)
Strathclyde Sport is a new £31 million sports centre, complete with state-of-the-art fitness and wellbeing facilities. The new £60 million Learning & Teaching building houses a new student learning village (lecture theatres, study and social spaces), a wellbeing room (including provision for yoga, meditation and hypnotherapy) and much more.
The Business School has seen a £23.2 million regeneration, offering students state-of-the-art teaching facilities and a 100-seat lecture theatre.
Student reviewers regularly praise the university’s world-class IT facilities, including the computer labs (many of which are open 24 hours a day), and Wi-Fi zones across the campus. They also rate the university library highly. There are over 500 computers, around a million books and 540,000 e-books accessible from students’ own devices.
