Postgraduate
UCEM offers MSc conversion programmes as well as MBA courses.
UCEM offers a flexible and effective online postgraduate programme, which enables their high-quality curriculum to be accessible from anywhere in the world.
UCEM offers several MSc conversions and MBA programmes, which are studied online. The online delivery format allows students a great deal of flexibility, being able to organise their workload around existing work or personal commitments. Course material is available via UCEM’s highly developed Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) which gives student access to an extensive hub of resources, services and technologies.
The institution has strong links with employers, ensuring course content is relevant and up to date with developments within the construction and estate industry.
On these courses students gain in-depth industry knowledge, develop specialist skills and will receive an accredited qualification at the end.
The MSc conversion programmes are ideal for students who want to enter the property or construction sector, but have a degree from a different discipline. It’s a great way to pivot from their prior educational field into a certified qualification within the built environment.

Admission requirements vary on a course-by-course basis, and prospective students are encouraged to check the course-specific information on the university website.
Courses are delivered in English, and applicants much demonstrate a minimum level of English language proficiency to be admitted. For postgraduate study, applicants should be able to demonstrate one of the following:
GCSE Grade 4 (or C) or above in English Language or English Literature, or an equivalent qualification
Grade 5.5 or above, with at least 5.5 in the reading and writing modules, in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) academic test administered by the British Council
79 or above in the Internet option, 213 or above in the computer-based option or 550 or above in the paper-based option, of the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test
Grade C or above in English (Language or Literature) at A/S Level
A cognate sub-degree (Level 5) qualification taught and assessed in English from the University of Hong Kong or City University of Hong Kong

Because UCEM is an online-only institution, it doesn’t have a students’ union, but there are opportunities to get involved by becoming a student representative, ambassador or trustee.

Clubs and societies
UCEM is an online institution, and doesn’t run any clubs or societies. However, students can become ambassadors or course representatives for the institution, as well as joining the alumni association upon graduation.

UCEM is an online institution, so there is no campus. Students can therefore choose to learn from anywhere in the world. Consequently, there are almost limitless opportunities for places to live. Students are not bound to a particular city, and can choose their lived experience based on their personal needs and preferences.
As all courses at UCEM are taught online, students can live wherever they prefer during their studies. This gives a great deal of flexibility, and students can choose to remain at home, or move wherever best suits their lifestyle or financial resources.

Four weeks before students commence their course, they will be given a VLE induction module to complete. This compulsory module will ensure they can make the most of UCEM’s online hub.

Students receive academic support from dedicated programme leaders, module leaders and academic support tutors. These academic points of contact can provide support around module content, course delivery and preparing for assessments.
There is also a helpful student engagement team, who can support with administrative, academic, or personal queries.
Students with physical and sensory impairments, specific learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, mental health conditions, or long-term health conditions can receive tailored and flexible support from UCEM. Students are encouraged to contact UCEM directly to discuss individual needs and requirements.
Through this central hub, students are set weekly learning tasks and are provided with a programme of digital course materials, while having access to a range of learning and support resources, as well as connect with tutors and their peers. The course encourages critical thinking and ensures that students graduate with all the tools needed to smoothly transition into competitive career roles within the built environment professions.
All programmes at UCEM are taught via online learning. This gives students both the accessibility and flexibility to fit studying around other life commitments. Students can work from home, or study on the move, requiring only an internet connection and personal workspace to achieve an accredited postgraduate degree which allows them to work in a diversity of professional fields within the built environment worldwide.
