Arbitration is now recognised as an important dispute resolution route and it is often an essential component to solve issues before they get to litigation. Within the commercial area arbitration is an important method to solve international problems where technical and practical issues are complex. Arbitration can apply to many industries where contracts are involved and this includes: shipping, consumer employment, personal injury, employment, contracts, rights and protection and more. The programme is also applicable to situations where different international jurisdictions are involved.

If you want to become an arbitrator you will learn how to conduct initial meetings, draft pleadings, hear evidence and sometimes prepare an award. The programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).

  • A successful pass for the international arbitration law course allows you to be exempt from CIArb Module 1 on the International Arbitration Pathway.
  • A successful pass for The International Arbitration Practice course exempts you from Module 3 on the International Arbitration Pathway from CIAarb
  • If you already have a law degree you will already be exempt from CIArb’s Module 2 (Please check with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators if you want a membership or fellowship upon completion.
