The University of Bath offers over 100 taught postgraduate courses, including PGCert, PGDip, MA, MSc, MBA and MRes programmes. Courses are offered through the university’s four faculties:
Faculty of Engineering
Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
Faculty of Science
School of Management
Taught courses are delivered by leading academics, who are subject experts and active researchers, and curriculums are heavily inspired by the research being conducted by the university’s interdisciplinary research teams. This ensures that the education provided is as up-to-date and relevant as possible. Courses have been designed to not only provide students with the subject-specific knowledge and skills they need in their future careers, but also the key transferable skills required by employers in any industry.
During 2020 and 2021, the University of Bath adapted its teaching to provide a mix of in-person and online learning activities. This is called the Bath Blend and is designed to give students the best possible learning experience. During 2022 and beyond, they are planning to build on the enhancements made through the COVID-19 crisis so that they continue to improve the teaching and learning experience for their current and future students.
The University of Bath offers over 70 research based degree courses. Students can choose to either join an academic-led, pre-defined PhD project or write a proposal for their own project and apply for supervision from one of the university’s academics.
The university offers a variety of study options on their pre-defined PhD programmes. Students can either choose to study a traditional MPhil or PhD, where they undertake an independent research project under supervision, or can study an Integrated PhD or Professional Doctorate, where they undertake an independent research project but also undertake taught modules.
Postgraduate research students will get the opportunity to work alongside some of the world’s leading researchers and experts in their chosen field. These academics have strong links with industry and government organisations, offering students the chance to be involved in research that has a real-world impact and opens up progressive career opportunities.
The University of Bath offers the following five distance learning Master’s courses:
MSc Applied Economics (Banking and Financial Markets)
MSc Artificial Intelligence
MSc Business Analytics
MSc Computer Science
MSc Entrepreneurship Management and Innovation
Students studying online receive the same high standard of education as that received by students on campus. They will join a global network of academics and fellow students and will be actively encouraged to collaborate and share ideas.
Students will be given access to the university’s Virtual Learning Environment, which will provide access to all the course materials needed. Students will also gain access to the university’s extensive online library and student support services groups.
