Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at University of Buckingham

Nope. Great culture and ambience. read full review
Best- never been to the campus as all my lessons are online but somehow lecturers make it a comfortable environment where we can share views and opinions.

Have had great support from staff and felt more supported by this university than the uni I studied at for 3 years.

Only con is I feel I don’t get enough in person training for teaching PE or we could have ideas on lessons etc read full review
The University of Buckingham is the best place for its small class sizes, ensuring personalized attention from lecturers and a close-knit academic community. read full review
I have been around universities - BSc then MBA, before current PhD, whilst working in Education for 25 years. Buckingham University is the best: to begin with: the essential, supportive administrative staff who always go the extra mile; very importantly: the most helpful and competent Library people - and sparkly new Library; access to the widest range of resources and catalogues; the world-class I.T. facilities and most patient and knowledgeable, and non-patronising I.T. support; the loveliest and safest of campuses (with really fine security staff who take their job seriously) in an historic and pleasant classic English country town, surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet close to good roads, public transport and easy routes to e.g., London and Oxford; the most informed professors with the depths of experience at senior governmental institutions and in industry, whilst contributing to respected academic research: lecturers and supervisors who are generous with their time, kindly and encouraging without telling you what to do, but guiding sufficiently - for you to work it out for yourself. Critically: very pleasing to be at a university which has no bar to free speech and welcomes all: any belief and origin from everywhere, and younger and older: there is a great atmosphere. read full review
Accessible online course. Could be improved by having more in person days to meet the rest of the cohort. read full review
Lack of SU engagement or support for online students.

Modules are poorly designed and staff don’t respond to module feedback.

One module using outdated and prerecorded videos from previous years instead of teaching live.
Business simulation module had consistently poor communication.
Business simulation module slow to mark assignments. Currently waiting for assignment feedback for things submitted 2 months ago. read full review
The support for SEND students is not very effective as there is limited SPLD staff and therefore the availability for support is very low. This is not unusual for university in general unfortunately, but it is a shame because the SPLD is a lovely, kind and supportive person, it is just sad that there is not more support available when needed. read full review
The university program runs well and is very clear in terms of what is expected. The support given is of a high level. The university reply quickly when there are issues and give detailed responses. I have given average grades for facilities, campus, Student life and Student union. I am not on campus therefore I can not provide an accurate assessment. read full review
