I have gained a lot of co-curricular experience as well as academic achievement. Although I don't think it is counted as a vibrant university life, sometimes I like the quiet but ongoing student life.
Accommodation is very close to the main campus. Spacious and comfortable bedroom, shared kitchen and dining is spacious and encourages housemates to sit together. Inside the house is hazard free, the doors are safety equipped so I feel safe inside too. Quite affordable for a comfortable living space
Lots of independent learning time, flexibility to pursue subjects of interest. Lectures are usually in blocks of a day. Needs a lot of initiative to contact for academic help, but usually lecturers and tutors are happy to do so!
Very accessible to local food shops and supermarkets, there are a few walking parks around my accommodation area; there a long walking distance to the bus and train station.
Weekly seminars, workshops, annual careers fest, lots of volunteering opportunities. Chester Difference Award is a good initiative to encourage students to increase their employability and skills.
Very good initiative in providing wellbeing support to students, checking in on students living in university accommodation during first lockdown.
